Book Review 4

The Great GatsbyThe Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

My rating: 1 of 5 stars
My The Great Gastby review

Dear Potential Reader,

The Great Gatsby is an okay book about love, hate, friendship, betrayal, symbolism, murder, and money. The book starts off as the narrator, also known as Nick Carraway, moving to a town named West Egg. Nick Carraway is a 1915 Yale Graduate. When Nick moved to West Egg, he made a new friend, named Jay Gatsby. Jay Gatsby is a millionaire that likes to throw parties. He throws great parties every Saturday night that can last until 3 am.

Nick has a married cousin named Daisy. Daisy and Gatsby used to be together, but things between them occurred even though they are both still in love with each other. The only problem is that Daisy is currently married to a man that goes by the name of Tom Buchanan. She has very little feelings for Tom, but much more feelings for Tom.

Gatsby doesn't want anything but to be able to see Daisy one more time. The only person that can help him do this is Nick and he will help.

What nobody knows is that there is more inside Daisy's and Tom's Relationship. Tom has a girl on the side and he trusts Nick well enough to let him meet her.

I think that this book is okay and I would not recommend this book to other people.

Thank you,

Brandon Hunter

Book Review 3

The OutsidersThe Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dear Potential readers,

The Outsiders is an outstanding that really tells the meaning of family in one book. The Outsiders is about two different gangs. The names of these gangs are the Socials and the Greasers. These gangs have a thriving hatred for each other for many different reasons. The Greasers are made of the kids of the east, the poor side of town. The Socials or The Socs for short are made up of the kids of the west side, the rich side of town.

This story is mainly about two kids in the Greasers, named Johnny and Ponyboy Curtis. They are the youngest and the smallest members in the Greasers. To tell you the truth, they didn't want to be in a gang. The reason why they were in one was because Johnny was being abused at home. Ponyboy lost both of his parents in a car accident a few years back. The only blood family he has is his brothers, Soda Curtis and Darrell Curtis, Darry for short. Ponyboy and Johnny do not just look at the members of the gang as friends, but as a family. They believe that family should always stick together no matter what was happening around them. Every member of the Greasers followed this, and saw each other as equals.

The story truly unfolds in the middle of the story when something unexpected happens. While Ponyboy was at home one day, Darry and Ponyboy got into an argument. Out of anger, Darry did something that he has never done before, hit Ponyboy. Ponyboy ran away, which was not a good choice. He found Johnny who also wanted to run away and they ran to the park. While they were at the park, the Socials came to the same park Ponyboy and Johnny were so they could jump them. Johnny has been jumped before and is always ready with his pocket knife. Johnny took it out as the Socs came. Just as the leader of the Socs, also known as Bob, started to drown Ponyboy in a nearby fountain, Johnny took out his knife and stabbed Bob. Bob was dead. The rest of the Socs ran away in fear.

To find out what happened to Johnny and Ponyboy, read the book The Outsiders. I'm 100% sure that you'll like it.

Thank you,

Brandon Hunter

What happened?

what happened to us? what happened to all of the joy and laughter we used to have? what happened to the love? what happened to everything? we just threw everything that we've been through out the window, including my heart. I dnt think tht i could love someone as much as i loved u and i just cant take this mess anymore. i understand that what i did tore apart our relationship, but why did it have to tear apart our friendship too????

Josh

So I was at lunch, eating with my bros when the dude next to me with the biggest gap says to me............. "Is my teeth yellow?" I look at him and i say to him, " Nope but I can't believe it's not butter."
